The MarVision device and method was born from the single
greatest tragedy our family has suffered. In 1997, my mother, Marlene, was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease or ALS.
As
her disease progressed, she lost the ability to communicate with her family. Simple family gatherings quickly became frustrating
for her and for the rest of us as we struggled to communicate even in the most simplistic terms.
We searched in vain
for a device that would allow us to recapture our ability to talk with mom, but everything we tried proved to be more difficult
than the one before.
One evening, as I sat watching my nephew play with a new laser toy - an idea came to me. The
idea that would make my mother's final years more enjoyable for her and her family and friends. The idea that we hope will
do the same for you and your family.
My whole family was grateful for the opportunity to once again just "talk to mom."
Before her passing in September of 1999, my mother made me promise that I would work to bring that same ability to other families
suffering with similar difficulties.
